FG urges US govt to reconsider its single-entry 3-month visa validity decision

The Federal Government has urged the United States to reconsider its revised visa reciprocity policy, which now limits Nigerian non-immigrant visas to single-entry, three-month validity.   In a statement released today by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Federal government expressed concern over the U.S.decision amidst partnership, cooperation and shared global responsibilities by both countries.     “The attention of the government has been drawn to the recent decision by the U.S. to revise its visa reciprocity schedule for Nigerian citizens, limiting the validity of non-immigrant visas, including B1/B2, F and J categories, to three months with a single entry. New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for President Donald Trump to be impeached after he decided to bomb the top nuclear facilities of Iran, blasting the move as “unconstitutional.”   Ocasio-Cortez argued that by striking the Iranian nuclear facilities ‘’without authorisation from lawmakers'' on Capitol Hill, the president breached the Constitution and Congressional War Powers.   “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared not long after Trump announced the attack.   “He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. Nigerians cry out after South African referees were appointed to officiate Nigeria's World Cup play-off match

FIFA has appointed a team of South African match officials to oversee the Super Eagles’ World Cup playoff semi-final against Gabon, a decision that has sparked backlash among Nigerian fans.   Nigeria will face Gabon on November 13 in Morocco in one of two African playoff semi-finals. The winner will advance to the final, where they will meet either Congo DR or Cameroon for Africa’s sole spot in the intercontinental playoff.   South Africa’s Tom Abongile has been named centre referee for the Nigeria–Gabon clash. His compatriot Zakhele Siwela will serve as one of the assistant referees, while Akhona Makalima will oversee the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
